When we asked people what their main reasons for buying e-books were, we received the same answers: price, convenience and space.

The Book Exchange is our answer to that.

Now, we haven't quite figured out how to manifest a physical book instantly at the press of a button but we have sussed out the next best thing.

Buy a book, read it, and when you're tired of it you can trade it for a substantial discount on your next read. You get the superior experience of reading a physical book without the issue of storage and your subsequent reads are e-book level cheap.

The first step is to let us know you want to be a part of the Book Exchange when you purchase your book.

The book or books you would like to enrol will be stamped to let us know that it's a eligible whenever you decide to trade it in--be it next week or next year. As long as it has a stamp, you're entitled to a discount.

We cannot accept books without a stamp. Sorry! So if you want to join the programme do let us know when you are purchasing the item. There is no cost or paperwork to join. All that's needed is to request it at checkout.

When you're finished with your book, bring it to the store when you're ready for your next read and exchange it at check out for a discount. The size of the discount will depend on the condition of the book. I'm afraid we cannot accept books that have been damaged to the point where they are unreadable (eg. missing pages, mouldy, torn up.)

In the future, we'd like to offer a subscription that will allow you to trade-in a book in the program for another book in the program at no additional cost. Just bring the book back and get another one. Similar to the library except you can keep the book if you like it and there's never any late fees.
